Darren
has been interested in film making from a very young
age which stemmed from his love of science fiction
movies. It was this interest in the film making
medium that inspired him to become involved in a
number of amateur film and stage productions
throughout the 1980s and 1990s which in turn paved
the way for his future film making endeavours.
Despite
Darren's keen interest in film making, it wasn't
until the year 2000 where he finally had the
opportunity to make his first short film. Ironically
he had barely started on his own productions before
being asked by others to assist in their short films

Darren
finished his last short film in 2012 thereby ending
an impressive average of one completed short film
every year from 2001. Currently he is looking at
making his first feature film, though this will
present a large number of challenges especially as
Darren is not employed within the film industry and
has no official credentials.
As
a film maker, Darren is completely self taught having
never been to film school and having no formal
training in the media, although in 1985 he did
complete a CAE course in Stage Directing. His film
work is a combination of imagination, enthusiasm,
knowing how he wants something to look and being able
to adhere to shooting schedules, all of which are
important qualities to have when working on a
production.
