14/10/05 - ALONE visual footage complete. It's taken longer than expected, however, all the film footage has now been supplied complete with all colour grading and visual effects. The film will be assembled on 17/10/05 where it will officially be deemed "COMPLETE"

*NEW* 1/9/05 - ALONE elements are now complete. We are very pleased to announce that Scott has delivered the final Sound Design components for the film, and Rich has delivered the final musical score too (including an all new song for the movie). By the weekend the final aspects of the footage will be handed over by Robbie which will have received the full colour grading and CG treatment. All that will be left is the final assembly of the film and then it'll be FINISHED.

1/8/05 - We completed an ADR (Additional Dialogue Recording) session with Dave our lead actor on the weekend. This was required for some new dialogue that's being included into the story as well as replacing some existing material. In other news, colour grading, visual effects and sound design are in their advanced stages and the music will commence soon now that our music composer has returned to the US. All is on track for our end of August completion date.

4/7/05 - We now have a music composer for ALONE! Rich Johnson, who is a music teacher based in the US, has taken up the offer to create an original music score for our film which is really great news. On top of this great news, colour grading is scheduled to commence very shortly.

2/6/05 - A copy of ALONE has been passed over to Robbie, our Visual FX person, who is taking on the task of removing some unwanted elements from a number of shots (such as power lines and power poles) to give our location a truly remote vista. Alongside this, our Sound Designer Scott, has now got all of the sound material for him to work on.

6/6/05 - The final visual edit for ALONE is now finished. Running at 11 minutes and 15 seconds, we are pleased to bring this phase of the production to a close. All that is required now is sound design, colour grading, some visual effects work and music to be completed.

3/5/05 - 26.6%! As of yesterday, the revised edit of ALONE has been shortened from 15 mins to around 11 mins which equates to a 26.6% reduction. We now have a faster, snappier production which moves along at a much better rate. It's still not finished but I think we're pretty close now.

14/4/05 - The ALONE edit is being revisited. After showing the film to a professional editor, a couple of great suggestions have been made to substantially improve it, so they will now be incorporated accordingly. BTW that one second unit shot mentioned below took three weeks to get! Thanks to Paul for this.

8/3/05 - After a couple more test screenings with friends and peers, we have decided to not explain all of the story elements within the film itself. Instead we will make a follow up mini documentary currently titled "ALONE - Revealed" which will explain all of the missing pieces to the puzzle. This in turn means that the visual edit of ALONE (which currently requires one second unit shot to be filmed) is all but complete.

4/3/05 - ALONE v1 was screened to a test audience at ACOPA on Wednesday where the reviewers filled out a questionnaire about the film followed up with a detailed discussion. Essentially the reviewers feedback was postive, however, it was noted that some facets of the story were not clear enough, this in turn means that some changes are required to the edit to help clarify some of the more obscure elements.

17/2/05 - The first "official" edit of ALONE is complete. The film will now be reviewed by others to see what further changes can be considered before it is handed over to the Sound Designer. At the moment it's envisaged that a couple of pickup shots maybe required to help the story flow better.

7/2/05 - The first working edit of ALONE is complete. Running just under 17 minutes, the editor will now take a short break before reviewing the footage again in a week's time to see what further enhancements can be made.

31/1/05 - ALONE is in the news. Barely one day after completing principle photography, Darren Maxwell (Writer/Director) was contacted by the Pakenham Leader Newspaper to conduct an over the phone interview regarding the film and the "desolate country highway" location.

31/1/05 - THAT'S A WRAP! After having some bad weather on the Saturday potentially threaten our shoot from going ahead, we found that by Sunday morning the skies had cleared and we were able to finish off all principle photography - wrapping our first unit shoot right on time. From there we headed off to our second unit location to complete our last shot for the production - which ironically is the the final scene of the film. Currently an edit from the first weekend's shoot has been completed and all that's waiting now is for the inclusion of this latest material.

24/1/05 - With some great weather on our side, the first two thirds of ALONE are now in the can. Filming on both Saturday and Sunday went off without a hitch and we were able to wrap earlier than scheduled on both days. Huge kudos to our cast and crew who not only did a sterling job during the shoot but were in high spirits through each of the two days.

20/1/05 - Well after all the planning and preparation, everything is set. The cast, crew, locations, props, shotlists, equipment is all teed up ready for the weekend. All we need now is some good weather for the shoot to be a big success.

14/1/05 - Shot lists, storyboards and camera setup plans for the first weekend shoot are now complete. Using some shot optimisation techniques, principle photography has been reduced from four days to three.

4/1/05 - After a couple of days of scouting the countryside, we've found a "desolate country highway" location for our film.

20/12/04 - We are very excited to announce that we have secured a brand new Holden Monaro for the production of ALONE. The vehicle is being supplied by Ferntree Gully Holden (with a special thanks to Geordie Bate) and we are very grateful for their generosity
